Helping Hand

Members of the Powell Historical Preservation Society went to the New Bethel
School to help with their restoration project. This school was in use from 1915 to 1942, with
two rooms. At the time of closing, it still had all outside facilities.
One histoic group helping with another. This old rock school house
is another of McDonald County's icons to be preserved.

4th Annual Silent Auction

The Powell Historical Preservation Society would like to thank all the businesses and the private
sector which made our silent/live auction a big success. Also, we want to take this opportunity
to thank everyone for their bids and participation, including the bakers for a wonderful display
of baked goods. David Bunch, as always, did an excellent job as our auctioneer this year.
Don't forget to attend our July 4th celebration and the Fall Ham & Bean Feed on September 15
at the Hill & Hollow grounds at Powell, Mo.
